Churro–4-year-old Poodle with a fractured radius and ulna

Churro, is a little dog who had a big accident – after jumping out of their owner’s arms, this poor pup fractured his foreleg (the radius and ulna). X-rays confirmed the fracture, and Dr Scot performed surgery to place a plate to fix the bone and stabilise the fracture for healing.

We’re thrilled to share that the surgery went very well, and after 12 weeks of rest and plenty of TLC, this brave patient has now made a full recovery. The fracture has completely healed, and they’re back to enjoying their walks and playtime as normal.

Procedure Cost

Orthopaedic fractures in pets can be complex and typically cost $3,500–$5,000 to treat, depending on the type and severity of the injury. While accidents like this can’t always be prevented, prompt care and modern surgical techniques give our pets the best chance at a smooth recovery.
