Sweet Bubba, a two-year-old British Bulldog, came to us with a painful condition called entropion – where the eyelids roll inward, causing the lashes to constantly rub against the eyes. Ouch!
In Bubba’s case, it was severe. His lower eyelids curled in so badly that they caused a painful corneal ulcer, leaving him squinting, uncomfortable, and at risk of long-term damage.
Dr Amanda stepped in to help. Bubba underwent entropion correction surgery, which involves reshaping the eyelids so they sit properly and no longer irritate the eye surface. It’s a delicate procedure, but one that makes a world of difference.
We're thrilled to report Bubba is now healing beautifully and already showing off his bright, happy eyes!
Entropion is especially common in certain breeds, like Bulldogs, Shar Peis, and Pugs – and early treatment is key to preventing pain and vision loss.
If your pet is showing signs of squinting, excessive tearing, or eye redness, let us know. We’re always here to help!
Paw-sitive vibes to Bubba for a smooth recovery!
We have performed over 600 entropion procedures and charge from $1,400 to $1,900 for both eyes.
Optional pre-anaesthetic blood test available for all surgeries (additional cost)
